Care that sees the whole person.

LUMA Integrative Health offers thoughtful mental health care and wellness support rooted in clinical insight, collaboration, and whole-person understanding.

Meet Bree

I’m Bree Smith, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and the founder of LUMA Integrative Health. I’m originally from Georgia, and I bring a little bit of that Southern warmth into the way I care for people: thoughtful, welcoming, and never rushed.

My background spans emergency and trauma nursing, aesthetic medicine, wellness, and mental health, experiences that have shaped the way I think about the connection between emotional well-being, physical health, identity, body image, hormones, stress, and the nervous system.

Clinically, I am especially interested in the places where symptoms overlap or do not fit neatly into one explanation, including ADHD, anxiety, mood changes, trauma, and the ways hormonal and life transitions can influence how you feel and function. My years in emergency nursing also gave me a firsthand understanding of healthcare culture: the pressure to keep going, compartmentalize difficult experiences, care for everyone else, and sometimes put your own needs last. That experience shaped a particular interest in supporting healthcare professionals and first responders navigating chronic stress, burnout, trauma, compassion fatigue, and the cumulative weight of caring for others.

I care for children, adolescents, and adults through psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and an integrative, whole-person approach that considers the many factors that can influence mental health and well-being.

Outside of work, I’m usually happiest with a good book, a really good candle, cozy lighting, and probably a scary movie queued up. I love spaces that feel warm, intentional, and a little moody. I have a soft spot for astrology, and the occasional bit of woo. I hope that same sense of comfort and curiosity comes through in the care you receive here.

LUMA was created to be a space where you can exhale and feel safe, respected, and genuinely seen. I believe psychiatric care works best when you are understood as a whole person, not reduced to a diagnosis or checklist of symptoms, and when your autonomy, identity, culture, values, and lived experience are respected throughout your care.

You are welcome here.

LUMA is an inclusive and affirming space for people of all races, cultures, genders, sexual orientations, body sizes, abilities, family structures, backgrounds, and lived experiences. Your care is grounded in respect for autonomy, identity, human dignity, and your right to feel safe in your own body and life.

You deserve care that honors the whole of who you are, without asking you to leave parts of yourself at the door.

Mental health does not exist in isolation. The way you feel can be shaped by your physical health, relationships, environment, identity, stress, hormones, and the season of life you are moving through.

At LUMA, those connections are part of the conversation.

Begin with care that sees the whole picture.
